Oral history with 15th Air Force, P-38 Lockheed Lightning fighter pilot veteran Revis Sirmon. In this interview, Sirmon discusses his early life in Abbeville, his family, his museum and collection of World War II artifacts. Sirmon also talks about what iunfluence his decision to be a pilot, the state of the United States military prior to the declaration of war in 1942, how U.S. aviation tactics changed during the war, and how he joined the military. Sirmon served in the 15th Air Force as a P-38 fighter pilot and flew missions over Italy, the Balkans, Austria, and Germany. Part 1 of 2.
