An oral history interview conducted on August 23, 2017, with Thomas Jarreau of Denham Springs, Louisiana. Jarreau served as a sniper in the 101st Airborne Division in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He discusses: being drafted; his training at Fort Polk; being stationed at Camp Evans in Vietnam; his night missions; being shot in the left shoulder on Hamburger Hill; his medals; the protestors throwing rocks and eggs at the Baton Rouge Airport when he returned home; his difficulty in receiving VA benefits; and his advice for young people interested in joining the military.
