An oral history interview conducted on August 10, 2017, at the Vietnam Veterans of America Conference in New Orleans, with Bud Alley of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Alley served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He discusses the death of his colleague, Lieutenant Earl D. Aull of New Orleans, during the Battle of Ia Drang Valley in 1965 and connecting with Lieutenant Aull’s mother thirty years later to share the details of how her son died.
