Rosato served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He discusses: his training; his first time in a helicopter; his role as a door gunner on a helicopter; the first time he was shot at on a night mission; his experience of the 1972 Easter Offensive; his unit’s transfer to Da Nang; his difficulty in returning home and transitioning to civilian life; and living with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
