Description
This segment from the July 21, 2017, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Andre Moreau’s report on Louisiana receiving a “D+” on the Infrastructure Report Card by the Louisiana chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He interviews Dr. Kam Movassahi, the executive director of the report card and a former secretary of the Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), who discusses: the traffic congestion in Baton Rouge; the hidden costs of poor infrastructure; the mega projects that are needed around the state; 44% of the state’s bridges being functionally obsolete; and the positive report on the state’s airports. Moreau also interviews DOTD Secretary Shawn Wilson who shares his reaction to the report card.
