Description
This segment from the June 9, 2017, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features producer Kevin Gautreaux’s report on the status of the Comite River Diversion Canal project. Gautreaux reports that the project was approved in 1992, but the Lilly Bayou Control Structure is the only portion of the 12-mile project that has been built. He interviews: Dietmar Rietschier of the Amite River Basin Commission; Central Mayor Jr. Shelton; and Bobby Duplantier, the senior project manager with the United States Army Corps of Engineers.
