This segment from the April 14, 2017, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features producer Kevin Gautreaux’s report on the Health Intensive app developed by the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge for soldiers, veterans, and military families. Gautreaux reports that Pennington has worked with the United States Department of Defense to develop the Army Health program, a series of online tools that monitor the fitness, nutrition, and sleep needs of soldiers so that they can maintain the physical standards required by the Army. He interviews: Sergeant Marina LeBlanc of the Louisiana National Guard; Dr. Tiffany Stewart, the director of the Behavior Technology Lab at Pennington; and First Lieutenant Michael Switzer of the Louisiana National Guard.
