This segment from the July 8, 2016, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features producer Tika Laudun’s interview with U.S. Army Retired Master Sergeant Tanya Whitney of Sorrento. She discusses: her career in the U.S. Army; her deployments to Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Djibouti following the September 11th terrorist attacks; her retirement in 2010; being diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); her family’s difficulty in dealing with the diagnosis; and her involvement with veterans’ groups.
