This segment from the February 5, 2016, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features producer Kevin Gautreaux’s report on school choice in Louisiana. He interviews Krystal Warner, the mother of seventh grade student Jalen Robinson, who discusses her decision to use a scholarship voucher to move her daughter from a failing public school to the Good Shepherd School in New Orleans. Gautreaux also interviews Ann Duplessis of the Louisiana Federation of Children on her support of school choice, as well as Steve Monaghan of the Louisiana Federation of Teachers on his problems with the state’s school voucher program.
