This segment from the September 4, 2015, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Shauna Sanford’s interview with Yvonne Boudreaux, the co-producer of the documentary “61 Bullets” on the unanswered questions surrounding the assassination of Governor Huey P. Long in 1935. Boudreaux is the great-niece of Dr. Carl Weiss, Long’s alleged assassin. She discusses: her family connection to the story; the events of September 8, 1935; Carl Weiss, Jr.’s reservations about participating in the film; and what she learned through the making of this documentary.
