Description

This segment from the February 6, 2015, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Charlie Whinham’s report on the indefinite closure of the Fort Pike State Historic Site due to the mid-year budget cuts in the state park system. Whinham visits the historic site located twenty miles east of New Orleans. He also interviews Dr. Christopher Stacey, a history professor at LSU-Alexandria, who discusses the historical significance of the site and his feelings on its closure.
