This episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” from June 6, 2014, features Shauna Sanford leading a panel discussion with seven state legislators from north Louisiana on the conclusion of the 2014 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature. The panelists are: State Senator Greg Tarver (D); State Representative Jim Fannin (R); State Representative Joe Harrison (R); State Representative Henry Burns (R); State Representative Kenny Cox (D); State Senator Francis Thompson (D); and State Senator Robert Adley (R). They discuss: their accomplishments during the session; the lack of money in the state budget; their view of Common Core; workforce development, including the TOPS Tech Award; the passage of a bill stopping the lawsuit by the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-East against 97 oil and gas companies for environmental damages to the wetlands; and the failure of Medicaid expansion.
