These stories include: attorney Jimmy Faircloth and retired Lieutenant General Russel Honore testifying on a bill stopping a lawsuit by the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-East against 97 oil and gas companies for environmental damages to the wetlands by only allowing government agencies with coastal zone management plans to bring legal claims; State Representative Eddie Lambert questioning Faircloth on the bill; State Treasurer John Kennedy, Commissioner of Administration Kristy Nichols, and State Representative Jerome Richard testifying on Richard’s bill reducing state contracts by 10%; State Senator J.P. Morrell testifying on his bill requiring the State Licensing Board of Contractors to provide testing for the installation of solar panels; State Representative Walt Leger III testifying on his resolution asking the Department of Transportation and Development to begin studying self-driving vehicles; State Representative Frank Hoffman testifying on his bill prohibiting elective abortion providers from distributing information about abortions in public or charter schools; State Representative Austin Badon testifying on his bill allowing doctors to keep a pregnant mother alive in order to allow for the birth of her baby; and Dr. Melissa Flournoy of Planned Parenthood testifying against Badon’s bill.
