Description
This segment from the August 9, 2013, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Charlie Whinham’s interview with 93-year-old Knot Farrington of Metairie. In 1963, Farrington set a land speed record of 241.78 mph at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. He discusses his love of speed, modifying his car during his spare time, and setting the record. Farrington’s modified Ford Thunderbird is on display at the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame in Natchitoches.
