Description
This segment from the September 28, 2012, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Shauna Sanford’s visit to Cameron Parish to assess the rebuilding efforts seven years after Hurricane Rita and four years after Hurricane Ike. Sanford drives along Highway 82 with Cameron Parish Sheriff Ron Johnson and visits the towns of Cameron, Johnson Bayou and Holly Beach. She also talks to Sheriff Johnson and residents Mona Breaux, Jennifer Jones, and Sherry Seat about the rebuilding efforts and their disappointment in the lack of hurricane protection being built in the area.
