This segment from the July 6, 2012, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Charlie Whinham and Shauna Sanford leading a panel discussion on health care in Louisiana following the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare). They discuss: the U.S. House of Representative’s upcoming vote to repeal Obamacare; Governor Bobby Jindal’s decision not to implement the health insurance exchange and Medicaid expansion provisions of the Affordable Care Act; the recent cut to Louisiana’s federal budget for Medicaid; the timeline for the reduction in health care services; the health care reform measures supported by Congressional Republicans; and the subsidies available to small businesses that offer health insurance to their employees.
