Description
This segment from the June 22, 2012, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Sue Lincoln’s interview with Danye Pelichet and Demetria Scott, third grade teachers at Zachary Elementary School and recipients of a Fund for Teachers travel grant. They discuss their plans to travel to Nova Scotia, Canada, to learn more about the history and culture of the Acadians, including their expulsion by the British, as well as how they plan to incorporate what they learn into their lesson plans for next year.
