This segment from the August 27, 2010, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Shauna Sanford’s report on the St. Bernard Project, a non-profit organization that helps victims of Hurricane Katrina rebuild their homes. Sanford interviews Liz McCartney, a co-founder of the St. Bernard Project, who discusses why she founded the project with her boyfriend and her sense of urgency in helping families rebuild their homes five years the storm. She also talks to Sister Judy Zynda about the volunteer response to the project.
