Description
This segment from the February 19, 2010, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features producer Allegra Nevils Yancey’s report on City Hall Fellows, a national service organization that encourages top college graduates to work in city governments, including Baton Rouge. Yancey interviews Bethany Rubin Henderson, the founder of City Hall Fellows, who discusses the need to replace an aging workforce in city governments and the qualities they look for in a fellow. She also takes to Niiobi Armah, IV, a Southern University graduate, about his experience in the City Hall Fellows program. Lastly, Yancey speaks to Dr. Nancy Clark, the Dean of the LSU Honors College, about the program’s role in encouraging the best students to stay and work in the state. Host: Charlie Whinham
