This segment from the September 25, 2009, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Charlie Whinham’s interviews with three of the eight La Fondation Louisiane scholarship recipients, Connie Boudreaux, Ashley Herrick, and Elizabeth Lyles. They discuss: their excitement about their upcoming trips to France and Belgium to teach English to French students and study education, respectively; the challenges of traveling abroad; and their plans to share Louisiana culture with their students and colleagues. Whinham also talks to Dr. William Arceneaux, the founder of La Fondation Louisiane, about the scholarship program, which sends motivated Louisiana high school and college students to study French in Francophone countries.
