Description
This segment from the March 27, 2009, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Charlie Whinham’s visit with Dulac residents Larry Martin, Linus Parfait, and Juliana Percele to see how they are rebuilding their homes and lives after the devastation of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005. Whinham also speaks to Reagan Wooley, a case worker from the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), about rural communities being left behind, the importance of volunteers to the recovery effort, and the work that still needs to be done.
