Description
This segment from the March 20, 2009, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Shauna Sanford’s interview with State Representative Jane Smith of Bossier City on her proposal to increase tax credits for businesses and individuals that purchase alternative fuel vehicles, including those that run on compressed natural gas. Representative Smith argues that using alternative fuel vehicles will help to end the United States’ dependence on foreign oil, stabilize the state budget because of Louisiana’s abundance of natural gas, and create more jobs. Sanford also talks to Tammy Morgan, the owner of a Honda Civic that runs on compressed natural gas, about the benefits of owning an alternative fuel vehicle. Hosts: Charlie Whinham and Shauna Sanford
