Description
This segment from the January 9, 2009, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Shauna Sanford’s report on the success of Baton Rouge in attracting video game companies to the area. Sanford talks to Jacqueline Beauchamp, the CEO of Nerjyzed Entertainment, about moving to Baton Rouge, the development of their first game “Doug Williams: Black College Football Experience” for the X-box, recording the marching bands featured in the game, including Southern University, the importance of tax incentives, and the types of jobs needed at a game development company. Sanford also interviews Dean Majoue of Yatec Games about his company’s development of educational games, like “Enchanted Garden”, ”I.Q. Identity Quest” and “Say-N-Play.” Lastly, she talks to Adam Knapp of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber about industry leader Electronic Arts opening its first North American office in Baton Rouge.
