Description

This segment from the October 3, 2008, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Shauna Sanford’s interview with C.C. Canaday of Keatchie in DeSoto Parish about her negative experiences in dealing with the “land men” from the oil and gas companies seeking to lease her mineral rights for the Haynesville Shale. She also talks about founding the United Neighbors for Oil and Gas Rights in order to help others who were being pressured, misled or given only a fraction of the value of their land during the lease process. The Haynesville Shale could be the fourth largest natural gas reservoir in the world and the largest in the United States. Hosts: Charlie Whinham and Shauna Sanford
