Duhe first reports on the Duke campaign, including interviews with: Duke supporters; Dr. Mark Carleton, a history professor at LSU; John Kilburn, Duke researcher; and Dr. Stephen Caldas, Duke researcher. Nachman then reports on the Edwards’ campaign, including highlights of his election night speech. She also interviews two political analysts, John Maginnis and Dr. Wayne Parent of LSU. Lastly, Collins conducts an in-studio interview with Dr. Mark Carleton, a history professor at LSU, and Ed Reed, a political analyst. They discuss: lessons learned from previous elections; the issues important to Duke’s supporters, including welfare reform and affirmative action; President George Bush campaigning for Governor Roemer; the reasons why Roemer lost; and Edwards’ approach to the run-off election.
