This segment from the December 21, 1984, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Ken Johnson’s profile of Reverend Harold Brown, the founder and director of the Fairhaven Children’s Home outside of Covington in St. Tammany Parish. Since 1966, Reverend Brown and his wife have served as the legal guardians to 165 foster children. Johnson visits the home and attends the surprise Christmas party thrown by employees at the St. Tammany National Bank. He interviews Reverend Brown, as well as bank employees Paul La Rocca and Dolores Johnson. Host: Beth Courtney
