This segment from the June 20, 1980, episode of “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features a report on the indictments of reputed New Orleans crime boss Carlos Marcello, former Commissioner of Administration Charles Roemer, Washington lobbyist Isaac Irving Davidson, and New Orleans lawyer Vincent Marinello as a part of the Brilab investigation, an FBI undercover operation aimed at exposing an insurance kickback scheme. This report includes the reactions of Jimmy Fitzmorris, Sonny Mouton, and Governor Dave Treen to the indictments and an interview with Charles Roemer.
