This episode of the series “Louisiana Public Square” from January 25, 2017, features Dr. Rani Whitfield leading a discussion between the audience members and panelists on living a healthier lifestyle in 2017. The audience members discuss their motivation for getting in shape, the healthy changes they have made, the barriers to weight loss, and food deserts. The panelists are: Dr. Drake Bellanger, a bariatric surgeon with the Weight Loss Surgical Centers of Louisiana; Dr. Catherine Champagne, a registered dietician with the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge; Rudy Macklin, the director of the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports; and Stephanie Elwood of the Southern University AgCenter.
