Description

A session entitled “Louisiana, The State We’re In: Challenges, Collaboration, and Opportunities” at the annual meeting of the Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA) in New Orleans on November 30, 2017. The panelists are: Dr. Edward Benoit, an assistant professor with the School of Library and Information Science (SLIS) at Louisiana State University (LSU); Leslie Bourgeois, the archivist at Louisiana Public Broadcasting; Gemma Birnbaum, the director of the World War II Media and Education Center at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans; and A. Mackenzie Roberts, a graduate student with the LSU SLIS program and an intern with the Research, Archive, and Data Strategy team at NPR. Bourgeois discusses the Louisiana Digital Media Archive, a collaborative project between LPB and the Louisiana State Archives; Birnnbaum discusses the work of the World War II Media and Education Center; and Dr. Benoit and Roberts discuss the results of a statewide moving image preservation survey. They also answer questions from the audience.
