Description

A debate at the Baton Rouge Press Club on October 20, 2014, between the candidates for Louisiana’s 6th Congressional District: State Senator Dan Claitor (R); Paul Dietzel II (R); former Governor Edwin Edwards (D); Garret Graves (R), the former chairman of the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority; and State Representative Lenar Whitney (R). The debate begins with each candidate’s opening statement. The candidates then answer questions on the following topics: the specific projects they will undertake for their district; their definition of conservative; same-sex marriage; minimum wage; the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare; their opinions on President Barack Obama and Governor Bobby Jindal; and the federal government’s role in education. The debate ends with each candidate’s closing statement.
