Description
The second part of live coverage of a special concert held at the LSU Union Theater in Baton Rouge on the eve of Governor Buddy Roemer’s inauguration on March 13, 1988. For the third segment of this concert, the LSU Wind Ensemble performed the following songs: “American Overture for Band” by Joseph Wilcox Jenkins; highlights from “The Sound of Music” by Rodgers and Hammerstein; “God of Our Fathers” by Claude T. Smith; and “Stars and Stripes Forever” by John Philip Sousa. The last portion of the concert featured a performance by the LSU Jazz Ensemble with clarinetist Pete Fountain. They played “Basin Street Blues,” “Avalon,” “Just a Closer Walk with Thee,” “Shine,” and “Amazing Grace.” Host: Beth Courtney Host: Bob Courtney
