This episode of the series “En Francais” from April 8, 1984, features James Fontenot’s interview with Dale Vinet, a shrimper from Delcambre, Louisiana. He discusses the shrimp industry in Louisiana and visits the Southwest Pass Seafood processing plant. Fontenot then interviews Fernard Dupuy, the owner of Dupuy’s Oyster House in Abbeville, Louisiana. He discusses the oyster industry and the history of his family restaurant. This episode was preserved through a 2018 CLIR Recordings at Risk Grant.
