This special episode of the series “En Francais” from December 17, 1983, features a documentary entitled “Une Decouverte Louisianaise du Quebec.” It focuses on James Fontenot’s trip to Quebec, Canada, and his examination of the close cultural ties between Francophone Louisiana and the Quebecois. He interviews: Gilles Loisel, a member of the committee celebrating the 450th anniversary of the discovery of Canada by explorer Jacques Cartier; Jacques-Ivan Morin, the Deputy Premier of Quebec; Charles Laroque, a Louisianan living in Quebec; Marc Boucher, a former member of the Quebec delegation in Lafayette, Louisiana; and Michel Ghalou of the Secretariat Permanent des Peuples Francophones.
