This episode of the series “En Francais” features highlights from the April 3, 1981, rededication of the French House on the campus of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. It includes highlights of the speech given in English and French by Francois de LaBoulaye, the French Ambassador to the United States. It also includes interviews with: former LSU Chancellor Dr. Cecil Taylor; Solis Seiferth, one of the original architects of the French House; and Ambassador de LaBoulaye. Host James Fontenot also conducts an in-studio interview with James Domengeaux, the president of CODOFIL, the Council for the Development of French in Louisiana. This episode was preserved through a 2018 CLIR Recordings at Risk Grant.
