Stewart interviews Ida Hall, Krystle’s mother, who discusses: when she learned that Krystle had Down syndrome; her difficulty in accepting the diagnosis; the influence of Krystle’s older brothers on her development; traveling with Krystle; teaching her how to talk; the impact of the state’s special education program; not liking the term “handicapped”; and her hope that Krystle will be able to attend high school.
